At least three dozen immigrant recruits who were booted from the U.S. Army after enlisting with a promised pathway to citizenship are being brought back to serve, according to court records filed Monday.

Since Aug. 17, the U.S. Army has reinstated 32 reservists, and revoked discharge orders of another six enlistees who had sued. Another 149 discharges have been suspended and are under review, said Army Assistant Deputy for Recruiting and Retention Linden St. Clair, in the filing.

The reinstatements follow an Associated Press story in early July that revealed dozens of immigrant enlistees were being discharged or had their contracts cancelled. Some said they were given no reason for their discharge. Others said the Army informed them they’d been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them.

They had enlisted under the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest program, known as (MAVNI), to increase the number of soldiers with critical language or medical skills.

The reinstatements come weeks after the Army reversed course, suspending the discharges at least temporarily.

Obtaining citizenship by joining one of the most oppressive military forces in the history of the world and defend a country that otherwise doesn't see me as worthy. Now that's what I call I-N-T-E-G-R-I-T-Y. Can I get a round of applause for our heroes?

correct extreme left is as dangerous as extreme right. we need centrists who can work together to make country progress. right now country is too much divided and adversaries like Russia and Iran pouring gas on fire. FB, MS, Twitter uncovered fake accounts madding in US politics posing as Americans.

There is something about Ocasio Cortez that makes me want to throw up. She is such an airhead. Has no idea what she is talking about.

I hate the fact that Democrats keep aligning themselves with the term socialism. Can't they get it? The term is toxic. Why would you brand yourself to that. Same as the stupid idea of abolishing ICE.

Seriously. I don't even think people know what socialism actually is, or what it might look like. I've listened to her interviews and they are absolutely cringe worthy.

People care more that she is a woman of color rather than her ideas...people just clap at what she says because of her intersectionality...it's kinda dangerous. It makes me think they expect less of people of color.

Shes the kind of girl you keep around not because of whats in her head, but because of how she makes you "feel."

Oppressive military force you say?

Where do I sign up? I want to oppress some peoples. This country sees me plenty as worthy cause its president granted me DACA.

Sorry that you're too gutless and spineless to fight for your country, oh and you ran away from your home nation. That's two charges.
