Hello everyone,
I’m about to send out my renewal application. In the past, I had been using my dad’s personal check book and I would just use one of his checks and give him the money. However, as I moved states, that is no longer an option. I plan on sending a Cashier’s check or a Money Order. Today I went to Bank of America to get a cashier’’s check but she demanded I provided her an address for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and I told het I would get back to her. Have any of you sent out Money orders or Cashier’s check? And if so, what address did you use? Or is it possible to not include an address as long as the payee is correct??

Thanks for your help!

Out of all the banks, this Bank of America likes to be an asshole towards dreamers.
With shit like asking you to show documentation.

Also just go to the post office and get a money order. You dont need the address right then.

I've sent cashier's checks from chase and Bofa and WU money orders and have never needed the DHS address.

You can pay with personal check or debit/credit card. It all gets converted to electronic funds transfer anyway

Western Union doesn't even ask who it's for. They just give you a blank money order. You write down the name

The last couple of times I've just used Wells Fargo. They don't ask for an address either

Wow I used to work for BoA and we never asked for the Payees address. Either BoA changed policies or the teller was new. If you have and account with Chase ( it can be anything auto loan or any chase credit card, these automatically qualify you as a Chase customer It does not have to be a checking account) they will only require the payees name no address needed. I would recommend this option because they are easier to track and you can always go back to the brach and follow up on the status of the cashiers check right there and then. Rather than a regular store bought money order that can be tracked but you need to wait days and days for it or the reps won't give you any info at all sometimes.
Good Luck.
