America’s biggest companies urged Congress on Wednesday to establish a permanent path to citizenship for “Dreamers” — undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children.

The move comes as President Biden and Democrats in Congress look to immigration as one of their next major legislative priorities.

Democrats on Feb. 18 unveiled a comprehensive immigration reform package backed by Biden that would provide a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants.

The sweeping legislation faces an uphill battle in Congress, but the Dream Act could garner support as a stand-alone bipartisan bill.

Nice... if only they would withhold donations to campaign funds unless something passes. That would light a fire under congresses' ass.

Yes! This does it! The biggest companies are backing us like 4 years ago and 2 years ago. This surely means we are getting something good real soon!

(Did I do it right?)

If you're going to be negative about everything and any opportunity we have... why are you still posting on this it? Are you actually a dreamer or are you someone who gets their rocks off by trolling people in an unfortunate situation?

If course I'm a dreamer... with realistic expectations grounded in reality.

A massive deal is imminent, haven't you heard?

A magnificient deal is brewing in Washington.....Joey has shown signs that he is going to compromise. Take a look at how he bowed down to the moderates and lowered the income threshold for the third stimulus check.

Joey is the ONLY Dem I trust, rest are all political hacks. With some grit, Joey can broker a glorious bill for Dreamers that can pass Congress.

A standalone bill can garner the necessary Reps and Blue Dog Dems to reach the 60 necessary votes to torpedoe this bill to Joey's desk! But it has to be a standalone piecemeal Dreamer legislation....

Things are different this time for sure. I've been following immigration reform since I was 12 (when I arrived to this country with my Parents from Kenya) in 2000. I am VERY well versed with the debates relating to Dreamers in Congress and just get the feeling this is it. Was devastated in 2010 when DA fell short in the Senate.

In my view, this is the best chance we have to pass a bipartisan Dream Act. Republicans are coming off a heavy Presidential defeat. We are coming off a record and devastating 2020. The need for good people like Dreamers is dire as ever and Reps like Romney understand that. Hence I think the latter Group will provide necessary remaining votes to get to 60 and I think Joey has the will to "get stuff done" finally.

Nothing is guaranteed in life, but I think Biden can certainly spearhead a piecemeal bipartisan deal on legalization for dreamers and border security. The great thing is that there isn’t an inflexible push for it the wall.

I know u don't think they have clout...but UWD + Big Mafia immigrant organizations will fight this tooth and nail. Believe me, they are going to come out strongly in opposition of a bipartisan Dreamer compromise.
