WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans have elected South Dakota Sen. John Thune as the next Senate majority leader, completing a momentous shift in their leadership that elevates a top deputy of Mitch McConnell into a key position as President-elect Donald Trump returns to the White House.

Thune, 63, is in his fourth Senate term and has promised to work closely with Trump, despite differences the two have had over the years, and will be a crucial part of the incoming president’s efforts to push through his policy agenda.

He beat out two other competitors, Sens. John Cornyn and Rick Scott, by gaining majority support from GOP senators in a secret ballot vote. Republicans are replacing McConnell, the longest serving Senate party leader, as they prepare to take majority control of the Senate with the 53 seats they won in last week’s elections.

Thune while crafting a bill on DACA a few years ago:

“This commonsense legislation would fulfill several urgent short- and long-term needs, which include extending permanent protection to today’s Dreamers who are facing an uncertain future and finally taking a meaningful step toward enhancing border security, which is a priority for the president and a majority of us in Congress,”

If the Republicans successfully resolve the DACA situation, it will have a significant impact on the Democratic Party for decades to come. Dreamers will remember those who stood by them and did not abandon them.

It would be mind-blowing if it is Republicans who end up missing this mess.

Well lets take a look at Thune:
CIR 2006: Nay
CIR 2007: Nay
Dream Act 2007: Nay
Dream Act 2010 (as amendment to defense bill): Nay
CIR 2013: Nay
2018 immigration amendments:
Coons amendment (S.Amdt.1955) (8 year conditional dream act): Nay
Toomey amendment (S.Amdt.1948) (anti-sanctuary city amendment): Yea
Schumer amendment (S.Admt.1958) (border security for dream act): Nay
Grassley amendment (S.Admt.1959) (border security for 10-12 year dream act): Nay
Thune amendment(S.Admt.2043) ($25B border security for perpetual DACA) never came up for a vote. Surprised you'd be such a proponent of being a 4th rate resident.

Were you abused as a child or something? Do you think that the stripper actually likes you? Thune is a piece of shit.

And 1958 and 1959 both earmarked billions. I counted at least 53B in each.
