This case is simply unbelievable to me.

Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from a Texas woman who wants to sue the federal government for sending her U.S. citizen baby to Mexico with the child's illegal immigrant father.

Monica Castro's daughter was a day from her first birthday when federal agents deported the father to Mexico and sent her with him. Three years would pass before Castro and the girl, both U.S. citizens who were born in Texas, were reunited.

Castro sued the federal government over the actions of the Border Patrol agents who refused to take the girl from her father and knowingly sent a U.S. citizen to Mexico. But a divided federal appeals court blocked the lawsuit.

The Supreme Court did not comment Monday in turning down Castro's appeal.

The problem here is simply that it's Texas. If it was New Jersey or Colorado, this wouldn't have happened.

The lawsuit is idiotic, and there is way more to this story.

If there was any reason for the mother not being able to care for the child, of course they would send her with the father. You do not belong the country you were born in, you belong to your parents, and a country would have no right to keep you in the US if your parents are leaving. Also, you expect the country to just support and pay for the child when you leave? the same child that you made, that is suppose to be only your responsibility?! It is disgusting.

The people filling the lawsuit are exactly what is wrong with immigration, and why people hate us and want to change the birthright citizenship.

Also, if the father just got deported and there was nothing wrong with the mother, then why would it take them 3 years to bring her back? Every child born in the US has a US birth certificate, and all you would need to do is hire a lawyer to do the paperwork and get a notarized permission from both parents and then somebody legal to bring her over to Texas with the documents.

Really, Texas has more illegal immigrants than anyone and they have more rights and receive more benefits than any other state.

I thought the point of this case was that the Border Patrol was unwilling to admit it did anything wrong and the Supreme Court is supporting them. As far as I knew, the girl was able to return to the country....

The Border Patrol and Supreme Court are Federal Authorities, they act how they act no matter what the state is.
