Seems like very unclear messages from the White House the last couple of days. Let's look at the bright side that Immigration is finally back on the headlines. I'm sure the work will begin as early as next month...who knows..maybe they will reach a consensus very early and pass it by this summer. Impossible is nothing.

What the hell! he just said he was pushing to have a solid proposal by May.

EDIT: Oh wait, you got that from CNN? oh that explains it...

The economy needs to improve so there can be more jobs for those who lost their jobs. Then they would start talking about immigration. I'd say by next year they should start.

Fox is saying that he's pushing so there is opposing media responses to counterbalance the general public's reaction...just keep calling/emailing and we'll see what happens.

this is why I've always insisted on just DA as stand-alone bill. I canvassed and did gotv for this guy, but Obama is not to be trusted until he actually forces a few hands to get somethig passed.
The way I see it, he's pretty much kicking the can down the road. He may bring up CIR this year as something to explore (like somehow, there's some new tidbit that hasn't yet being discussed and argued for an eternity). They'll then push it into 2010 only to have midterm elections force potential supporters cower and oppose it.
Forward to 2011, and he again avoids it because it's campaign season, and he doesn't need bothered with immigration. You can forget about 2012. Then in 2013, he'll mount a strong effort, only this time, he won't have much political capital left, and these republican sharks will kill anything we try because dems are too spineless and get bullied easily.
Dream is now or never; same for CIR.

Hopefully the Dream Act does pass. If the Dream Act doesn't pass then we're all pretty much screwed because a CIR would be a long shot to pass.

I agree with you Alex, I been stuck in the mud for 5 years since i Graduated in 2004 and to wait 1 or 2 more years or more is too much, might as well take my chances or something!
