....The Los Angeles County Jail began working with federal immigration agents in 2006 to screen inmates, but officials said the new federal program is much more accurate than the current system because all inmates — not just the ones who say they are foreign-born — will be checked...

YEp...that's how it started here, before you know it they will be using any excuse to take you downtown...jaywalking, no ID, looking like someone they are "looking" for....etc...etc..

it's f&*^& up!

County is a bad place, I like living in a city better.
County can be just a bunch of republican, a bunch of conservative, even can be a bunch of racist....

You do realize that LA City or County doesn't make any difference here.
"All local police agencies in Los Angeles County plan to begin screening the immigration status of all inmates booked into jails"
LAPD, Torrance PD, Beverly Hills PD, El Monte PD, whatever PD it may be. They all belong under LA County. Not to mention when it comes to actual jail system, it is taken care of by the LA Sheriff's Department anyways. All PD's in LA County transfer criminals to County Jail, which is operated by the Sheriff's Department.

Bottom line is... Don't do anything stupid and don't get in trouble with the law.

don't you all understand what Obama is trying to do, he's trying to prioritize criminal aliens and focus hes budget and enforcement on the border; for the sake of having the descent undocumented people safe. He HAS to go after someone, he HAS to enforce the law on someone. Napolitano also made clear on her priorities.

do you want CIR for gang members and felons as well?... come on now.

I am not going to argue what happen in LA City
but many cities happen to face pressures from both side, so they usually don't take STRICT actions like most counties do

You totally miss the point. Law is law. If we are undocumented, yes, then it is a "broke law" case. But THIS IS NOT WHAT NEITHER HE NOR US IS FACING.

The federal government, has no control over state and local government because these "actions" are legal unless the court appeal and said NO. Or unless it is against the federal law or even the constitution.

You are bring up an idea that thinking the government is trying to get a bunch of undocumented and then show to the public with a smile face : "HAHAHHA, I GOT THEM!, NOW PASS THIS ACT"

These counties are bunch of conservatives. They just want to wrap our "Asses" up....
They don't care about anything but themselves and yes, money.

And for Napolitano, she said her job is to enforce the law. It has nothing wrong with enforcing the laws. What do you want the government to do?
Look, these ICE cannot get people everywhere. And the government is doing whatever they have to do. Napolitano said no more "death search" like in the past. She stopped it, remember.

We can't expect the government to stop the ICE from doing their duties? Can we? Should we? Have they begin any "death search", random search again recently?
No?

These good politicians are supporting the DA and CIR because they want our votes. They knew these issues have to be resolve. But if we can't just give some little time, while putting more pressure on other congressmen and other people, then can you expect the outcome to be?
