I dont know if you guys have read this article, but according to Univision.com, they say that Dream Act will be attached to CIR..

Some of us dont want it to be attached to CIR, but if this is how theyre going to discuss it, then we cant do anything about it. Hopefully by December something is voted on.

Yeah...if you are going to post something in Spanish, at least translate it. Not everyone here speaks it.

The whole translation

Revive plan de visas AgJOBS

A group of congressional Democrats and Republicans came together to revive the Bill Jobs, Opportunities, Benefits and Security for Agricultural Workers (AgJOBS), which aims to regulate, each year the status of at least 500 thousand farmers roles in United States.

Path to citizenship

The initiative is supported by Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) and Representatives Howard Berman (D-CA) and Adam Putnam (Republican, Florida).

AgJobs is an earned adjustment program for undocumented farm workers which may, the first temporary residence based on their previous work experience and then become permanent residents once they meet the requirements of prospective employment.

The National Immigration Forum (NFI) welcomed the reintroduction of initiative and said that its adoption would give an opportunity for many farm workers in this country who do not have an approved immigration status to become immigrants.

The bill was prepared in 2003 by the American Immigration Lawyers (AILA), an entity considers the project as "the first step to reform the U.S. immigration system.

Details of the plan

The proposed law states that in order to participate in the program applicants must demonstrate they have done agricultural work for a minimum of at least 600 hours or 100 days over a consecutive 12 months during the period of 18 months.

If approved by Congress, the project will set a date to show the hours worked by the peasants.

Applicants who meet these requirements will obtain the temporary residence while they work to meet the requirements for permanent residence.

Once a farmer becomes the temporary residence, may serve in non-agricultural work provided that you comply with the requirements governing the work of foreign agricultural workers in United States.

The draft warns that foreigners who obtain temporary residence by AgJOBS and breach the requirements of agricultural work to achieve permanent residence, or not requested within the prescribed period, may be expelled from United States.

Moreover it may withdraw the temporary resident status and to deny the application for permanent residence to a foreigner in the following circumstances:

Whether the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) determines that such status was obtained by fraud or misrepresentation voluntary.

If you commit an act that makes him inadmissible (as stated in the Immigration Act), or if convicted of a felony or three or more misdemeanors as temporary residents.

CHIRLA celebrates

The Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights in Los Angeles (CHIRLA) said that the reintroduction of AgJobs in Congress is a step toward immigration reform, "and held that the 2009 plan has the support of the Chamber of Commerce States American and the main trade unions.

"This proposed law will stabilize the labor force in agriculture and provides a path to citizenship for rural workers who qualify," said Angelica Salas, executive director of CHIRLA.

"AgJobs benefit workers, employers and the economy. It is a law that everyone, including trade unions and we can support," he added.

Trust

"The reintroduction of AgJOBS is another key component of comprehensive immigration reform and we are about to debate a broad support for the immigration proposal by President Obama," said Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the NFI, in Washington DC.

In early April, the White House said that Obama in the summer to convene a panel of experts to draft a comprehensive refirma sent to Congress in the fall.

Noorani said AgJobs is a good start and highlighted the benefits of the plan, including "that offers a path to citizenship for farmworkers who qualify."

Plans aggregates

Immigration reform would include among its components the AgJobs and the Dream Act, a bill that would provide temporary residence for thousands of undocumented students highlights, once graduates who would be entitled to manage the permanent residence and, five years later, citizenship.

"AgJOBS is an essential part of the wider debate on immigration reform to take place in Congress this year," said Noorani.

In the panel to be convened by Obama will participate, as well as organizations for the rights of immigrants, religious leaders, lawmakers from both parties, lawyers, and groups advocating civil rights.

Obama has secured a project to send to Congress for reform during the first year of his tenure as president, which began on January 20.

I'm not sure I completely understand this whole idea of attaching DREAM to CIR...What's the point of that?? If you're going to pass CIR..isn't it suppose to be COMPREHENSIVE ? I'm really hoping they don't have such plans and just try to pass DREAM Act before CIR appears.

^That can only be a hope at this point. We all have a responsibility in some form or the other to get not only the 60 votes required in the Senate, but also a scheduled vote in the future.

With the passage of the Secure Fence act it would be logical to go to legalization next, but the recent signs of the White House suggest they are not too enthusiastic about the immigration topic.I still haven't seen one Obama comment mention Dream act in either an article or a video.
