San Jose DREAM Mock Graduation - June 23rd-- Itinerary

HI Guys,

First of I want to thank all those that have contacted me, and let you know the help is much appreciated.

So we got the city permit for Tuesday June 23rd, at 230pm until about 4pm. I will be leaving work early (10-12ish) to meet anyone who might need a ride and to set up and organize. If anyone is interested in meeting with me ahead of time and helping me set up (i don't think there's going to be much to set up) please let me know. I am also working on obtaining a sound system aka loud speaker and such, any leads please please let me know.

The Itinerary for the event is as follows:

230pm-3:00(ish) - Graduation Ceremony
3:00-3:40 - participant stories/speeches
3:40-4:00+ - Press conference

The Ceremony will be held (obviously) like a typical graduation, but we could have some symbolic changes. Ana suggested having hands tied, or throwing away the Diplomas afterward. things of the sort.

Then the students who would like could give a short speech (3-7) mins about how DREAM would impact them, their stories ect.

The Mercury news might want to interview some "grads" so if anyone is interested please also let me know (identities will be protected of course)

It would be great if all participants would bring their cap and gowns if they have any. (also great if anyone can bring bring extras for those that dont). Also signs are welcome. Such as "DREAM 2009" "what Next" "Just Immigration Reform"

Also anyone who wants to bring parents is welcome, since they too are part of what drive undocumented students forward.

Ok guys i think thats about all i can think off right now (just got into Los Banos CA and im brain fried). Ill keep updating this weekend.
