Not much information from this article except those who will be attending the meeting tomorrow.

UPDATE: La Opinion prints a list of meeting participants including more Democrats and some Republicans, citing White House sources:

House Members: Lamar Smith, Zoe Lofgren, Xavier Becerra,Howard Berman, Lincoln Díaz-Balart, Luis Gutiérrez, Nydia Velázquez, Adam Putnam, Anthony Weiner

Our House Sponsor for Dream act will be at this meeting & McCain looks as though he has been given an invite as well, nice !

I think the best chance we have right now is to send the DA by itself or possible attached with the bill banning the Widow Penalty to make it seem more humane. Hopefully they make some compromises in this meeting and we get some swift action.

Love the idea because I and my mom suffered the widow penalty.

I hope I to actually see some positive news and especially actions towards a comprehensive immigration reform rather than the promises that we hear everyday.

Excuse my ignorance but can somebody explain to me what the Widow Penalty is.

Thanks.

I agree, lets hear some concrete stuff, not just empty promises.

I think the widow penalty is when a spouse(A) is in the process of being legalized through the other spouse(B), but that spouse(B) passes away and then spouse (A) can not be legalized, due to the death.

The marriage must be:
1) At least 2 years.
2) They must have been interviewed once.
Other wise, widows and widowers will be rejected and be placed in removal proceedings.
