Not only did I have the pleasure of visiting his office, meeting his wife, and answering his PHONE! (nobody spoke spanish in the DC office so I volunteered myself) but now he is standing up for Walter!

Sen. Nelson you rock!

Quote:
Sen. Bill Nelson wants the deportation of college student Walter Lara halted. Nelson says Lara illustrates the need for the DREAM Act.

dont take this the wrong way people. but it seems to me that a few people that are being deported, they just let their situation known and then some one steps in and helps them.

just like those two brothers who had a temporary exception.

i wanna turn myself in lol.

When I got the email it said that Walter was caught while driving to work and that he worked for Direct tv. Does that mean that he was working illegaly ? because I dont think direct tv would hire undocumented workers.

i think what happens is that he doesnt work for direct tv directly.

i think direct tv hires contractors which in turn hire undocumented people.

Oh yes, because I'm sure Walter wants to have that fear of being deported by the 6th of this month. And because he just loved being in a detention center for 20 days He's been working his butt off, visiting congressmen and doing a million interviews everywhere, as well as gathering support online in order to remain in the country. I don't know if it was a joke or not, but that was really insensitive, especially because of what Walter has had to deal with everyday.

Anyway, everyone please go here: http://action.seiu.org/page/s/nelsonletter and co-sign the letter Sen. Nelson will be sending to Homeland Security. They'll be sending the letter TOMORROW so please sign ASAP and urge your friends/family to do so as well!!
