Hello everyone,

I recently took the GMAT test. I am preparing my application for my MBA in a university in Northern VA.
Problem is that I am out of status.

I do not mind paying out of state tuition, as long as they let me in the program.

I posses valid VA driver's license with no restrictions on it.

I was wondering if this will be enough piece of evidence to be accepted in the program. The admission lady asked me if I have a visa, and I said no. I am going to say that I am a US citizen, so they won't question for visa.

I also have a SSN. I just wanted to know if they will let go to their program, or my application will be rejected, coz I am lacking a current legal status.

I heard that as long as one pays the tuition, they do not really care about his status. I mean education is an obtainable service. Why would they mind making 35 K?

Please help me with my problem! I have an appointment scheduled later on this week. Should I tell them that I am illegal, or I should claim that I a US citizen?

Thanks

So i guess you had a student visa and it expired?

...Well my advice is not to lie. I dont know how tolerant Virginia is to undocumennted students, but do not lie because that would only get you into trouble. Especially when you attempt to become legal.

Virginia law allows you to attend any educational institution, even if you are undocumented. You shouldn't have any problems.

Hi Yurchie and everyone,

Thank you all for the help!

If what yurchie says is true, that'd be great!!

So, the admission lady asked me yesterday if I am with B1 Visa. I said No.
Then she said "wonderful".
I mean, I did not lie, I just did not tell her anything about my current legal status.
So, when I go there, I will just bring my driver's license and SSN.

In addition, I am not applying for an unemployment or some sort of benefit for residents, I just apply for school. Further, I will pay and create tons of employment and business for the people in the area.

It just doesn't make sense to deny my application for this reason.
