"The Obama administration has said that it wants to review the issue of the Haitians as part of a comprehensive approach to immigration reform. Coming to the aid of the mostly Catholic country are some advocacy groups with political punch, including the Catholic Church."

Ya well... for Haitians at least.

Either ways, it would be kinda fucked up if we won our rights like that. I wouldn't want that.

I am willing to pay the fines as part of the CIR/DREAM Act process to help the victims of Haiti.

I would, its not like an earthquake is a new phenomenon. I'm sorry for all the devastation and hope they get trough it but if this made things run faster then so be it. However, I do see them pulling it in favor of the Haitians ala Cuban style. That is if they even though of it

I am Haitian and I said the same thing. All I want to do right now is jump on a plane to help with the effort. Being stuck here sucks, with no job and no money I can't even donate a mere $5 to help. All I can do is pray.

In the meantime, The Department Of Homeland Security has agreed to halt deportation to Haiti.

now they want to help out. did they really have to wait for thousands of innocent to die before thinking of helping us out. seriously they should've stopped deporting haitians back to haiti a long time ago. united states better step up and help us out. haiti doesn't deserve any of this. they have enough problems to worry about. they need to stop deporting haitians period!!!! they need to pass CIR and DREAM ACT NOW!!!!!!!!!

... And under this condition they are clearly meet the criteria for Temporary Protected Status. This is one of the many ways United States can help by granting a Temporary Status so that they are allowed to stay here while the country recovers.
