ARIZONA

The Arizona Dream Act Coalition is hosting 5k run that will be taking place on Feb. 27th at 9am. The event will take place at Steel Indian School Park in Phoenix. Contact David Guerrero at 602-413-5572 for any questions.

The organization CADENA based out of Chandler-Phoenix will be conducting a letter writing and postcard campaign directed at Arizona media, Arizona Congressional Delegation, and Congress representatives.

CALIFORNIA

UC Berkley will be hosting a teach-in/dialogue about AB540 students and several other issues across the campus. COntact Gabriela Monico with any questions (510) 379-6048

Southeast Middle School, LAUSD is hosting Petitioning / tabling, Call-in Day in support of DREAM Act. Call Michael Ulmer for any questions about the event at 714-2446698

The organization CCISCO will be hosting a Town Hall Action in Support of Comprehensive Immigration Reform on February 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. The location is Ygnacio Valley High School Gym. 755 Oak Grove Rd., Concord, CA 94518. Contact Joanna Vasquez for more info (925) 437-9570

In solidarity with the Trail of Dreams the Korean Resource Center will be walking from Korea town to East L.A. To find out the details as to where to meet up and what the starting point of the walk will be, please contact Jeff Kim at 818-264-67-65

M.E.C.H.A will be hosting trainings about the DREAM Act, Ab 540, and similar subjects to help educate their community beginning the 20th of February in Norwalk. Ronald can answer any questions (562) 293-8591

Orange County Dream Team will host Dream Act Monologues, which will be full of testimonies and accounts from allies as to why the DREAM Act is essential. Be sure to contact Vanessa to get the details for this event at 714-651-1772.

Alliance of Dreams based out of UCLA will conduct a FULL week of action at the UCLA campus. From online petitions to a lobby day! Be sure to attend every day as each is full packed with DREAM Act activities and efforts to educate and capture more attention. Los Angeles

NAKASEC is sponsoring a : Trail of Dreams Solidarity Event on Saturday Feb 27th, from 8:30 to 5pm. Please Jon them as they walk 18 miles in solidarity with Trail of DREAMs, a 1500 mile journey from FL to D.C. that 4 students began on January 1st for just and humane immigration reform and equal access to higher education. Dream Team L.A. brings us Phantom Identity: A Panel of undocumented students who will share their experience and what it means to be part of the DREAM generation. Irvine

DREAMS at UC Irvine is hosting a full roster of DREAM ACT events during week of action. On Monday Feb. 22nd : OPEN MIC & AB540 STORIES, ICS 174 starting at 7pm. On Wednesday the 24th, there will be a screening of “PAPERS” THE MOVIE ,ICS 174 at 7pm. “Papers” is the story of undocumented youth and the challenges they face as they turn 18 without legal status.

On Friday Feb. 26th, DREAMS MONOLOGUES, @ EL CENTRO CULTURAL DE MEXICO 310 W 5th St., Santa Ana, starting at 7pm.

There are undocumented students throughout the nation and Orange County is no exception. This event gives presence and a voice to those undocumented students in our community. These are students that despite their immigration status do not give up but rather fight for their educational and career dreams. Please join us in solidarity and support!!!!!

UC-Santa Cruz

Wednesday in Oakes room 105 there will be a teach-in from 7-9pm about the issues of undocumented students and higher education. On Friday from noon to 1:30pm in the Conference C room there will be short film screenings on AB 540. The films are written and produced by students, and there will be free pan dulce. FLORIDA

The Latin American Coalition based out of Ft. Pierce will be hosting a rally in order to draw attention to the DREAM Act, Trail of Dream, and Reform Immigration for America Campaign. The action will occur at Indian River State College. Please contact Jose at 772-201-5246 for more information to this event.

The Florida State University will host a full DREAM Act week of action with several events lined up for each day. The Hispanic Latino Student Union in collaboration with several other student organizations will host everything from movie screenings, to water balloon fights.

March to the Florida Capitol from Florida State Campus (Tallahassee) to meet Mayor Marks who will speak about education. FRIDAY — FEB. 25, 2009 — DREAM WALKERS- WESCOTT PLAZA @ 12:00PM .A Peaceful March to the Florida Capitol building to demonstrate the support of FSU’s student body for the Dream Act Bill! The North Chapter of SWER will be hosting a movie screening on the North Miami Dade College Campus. The movie will be “Under The Same Moon” and admissions will be $2 with all profits going to benefit the Trail of Dreams. Contact Stephanie at 786-346-2657 for more information.

Students from The University of South Florida will conduct tabling during “Bull Wednesday” on campus and try to garnish support via petition signatures for a resolution on their campus. Be sure to come out and support dozens of student organizations that understand the importance of the DREAM Act. Please contact Silvia at 863-838-1511

University of Florida’s CHISPAS will host a movie screening and hosting an info session about the DREAM Act and the current situation with our immigration system. This event will be hosted on Feb. 24th at J.Wayne Reitz Union Room 282 on the University of Florida campus. There will be petitions passed around for the DREAM Act as well as a petition to allow University of Florida to be more inclusive of undocumented youth since their President announced his support of the DREAM Act. The SWER Chapter of Indiantown will be gathering members of the community and supporters at a local church in order to raise awareness and begin discussion of the importance of the DREAM Act and immigration Reform. GEORGIA:

After our week of action, be sure to check out DREAMS UNPLUGGED a concert featuring several bands who hope to bring to light similar stories to the ones from the Trail of Dream walkers. All proceeds will be given to the Trail of Dreams. Thew concert will take place on March 7th in the city of Duluth. 2029 Old Norcross Rd. the name of the venue is Sweetwater Bar & Grill.

La Coalicion de Lideres Latinos based out of Dalton will be doing tabling, movie screening and petition signatures. There will be a solidarity action with the Trail of Dreams.

Gwinnett Technical College will be conducting an information forum on DREAM Act.

“Beyond the D.R.E.A.M. Act: The Need for Comprehensive Immigration Reform” Thursday, February 25th at 6:00 pm in Fordham University Lincoln Center’s Student Lounge. Hosted by Fordham University’s Students for Solidarity and community organziation Make the Road New York. Students and community members will share their experiences of our broken immigration system as well as their involvement in the grassroots struggle for justice. This will also be an information session about Comprehensive Immigration Reform in general and for the march in Washington DC on Sunday, March 21st for Immigration Reform.

University Leadership Initiative will be hosting a Letter Writing and Call-In Campaign on Wednesday, February 24th at the Multicultural Information Center (MIC) in the SSB at UT-Austin anytime from 9 am to 2 pm. yea its loooking goood...Ima go to the Illinois one where they goona screen the film ""crossing Arizona"" i think or some other movie if anybody wants to go but dont got nobody to go with. im going
