Dream In - SJCC March 10-11 2009

The California Dream Act, allows U.S. citizen and undocumented AB 540 students to apply for student financial aid administered by campus at the California Community Colleges, California State University, and University of California. We are proud to announce our first ever Dream In, which will occur this Tuesday (March 10) until Wednesday (March 11) from 5pm to 7am. Specifically, it will take place in the General Education Quad located on the SJCC campus, where we will be signing petitions to submit to the state capital building in support of the Dream Act and to address the budget cuts. In addition, we will be hosting a series of social activities, a key note speaker(M.E.Ch.A founder Jorge Gonzales), songs of resistance with Professor Covarrubias, fundraising, and the showing of movies based on ethnic student struggles, with the predominant being "Taking Back the Schools." Please help support us in any way possible or come and join for yourself; any one is welcome. Join us for a fun overnight of movies and activities! Don’t forget to bring your own tent!
