I've been hard at work on a National Calendar of Events, an indispensable tool for our movement. Its not too pretty, yet, but it has enormous potential. With your help this potential can be realized. You'll find the calendar on the left hand side of all pages and at http://dreamact.info/advocacy/national-calendar.

The goal is to put all DREAM Act related events that we know about on a single calendar. This gives us fuller picture of what is happening around the country and lets anybody visiting DAP find events in their area.

What now?

First, anybody registered here can Add an event that they know about. We will do our best to publicize these events and will include them in our newsletter. Psst. All events go on the Recent changes pages, so you'll earn AP too.

Second, we can (and do) synchronize with public calendars of other DREAM Act organizations. To start we are already synchronizing with the public calendar of New York State Youth Leadership Council (YLC). Their events are automatically placed on the National Calendar. If you know about a DREAM Act organization that keeps a public calendar (or should), start by telling us.

Finally, you can synchronize the National Calendar with Outlook, iCal, iPhone, Google Calendar, and pretty much anything else, using the green iCal feed link.

That's all folks. Go on and add your events!

Very interesting as we try to up the pressure in the next few weeks and increase legislative targets.

I'm not the kind to notice this things, but

DAP launched: March 16th 2006
I started working on the new version: Sept 16th 2009
New version went online: Dec 16th 2009
The national calendar goes online: March 16th 2010

Some of the more important dates in DAP's lifetime have been on the 16th.

Happy belated fourth birthday, to us!

Thanks for adding the calendar! =)
I already went there and added the recent events coming up in the Central Florida area (a.k.a. Orlando, where I work at, hehe).
I'll probably create an Orlando DREAM Act Coalition calendar on my Gmail later on, and make it public. But that's not happening until I get back from DC, so yeah.

P.S.: It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that adding events to the calendar might earn me AP points too, hahaha. So if anyone wants, please feel free to put my AP up! Having an AP of 0 makes me look real bad :P
LoL.

I encourage you to do that! The befits are two fold. Your organization will have a calendar, which is valuable to your members and helps you build momentum for planned events. And, your Google Calendar will be automatically fed into the National Calendar on DAP, which also builds momentum for your events and additionally makes our entire movement a bit more organized; that's a very good thing considering how fragmented we are.
