A trio of key senators on Thursday pressured Democratic leaders not to let immigration reform displace a global warming bill.

Graham and his partners in writing climate legislation, Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) met with Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday to discuss their bill and the Senate agenda.

Kerry and Lieberman separately told reporters that Reid was committed to bringing their legislation to the floor, but they did not appear to have received a firm commitment on timing.

Asked if he’s requested that Reid bring up a climate bill before immigration, Kerry said: “I asked the majority leader to do what he thinks is best, but he told us that he would [bring up climate change first].”

The immigration bill, Graham said, is far from ready

So who is telling the truth here? Chuck or Lindsey?

What pisses me off is that this Graham fella is supposed to be one of the key people to bring immigration into the floor of debate. Yet he's running around now acting like a F#$@ing climate bill is more important than a present issue, which has actually been around for a decade and continues to get worse by the day.

If climate change wasn't such a bullshit of an issue I would say they could go ahead first, because I don't want to see what's going to happen to the immigration reform while all the republicans are trying to win conservative votes (like this douche and Mccain). But since it is such a bs issue, they should not and cannot put that before us.

dats true... but then is there any candidate out there who is willing to go forefront on CIR?? the only reason why REID grew some balls over the month to even mention CIR is because election is coming up....

so now my question is....

Are you going to vote for the old candidate who made promises about CIR and broke it, or are you going to vote for a new candidate who is going to make promises about CIR and break them later on?????....

We should put Kerry and Liebermann into the list of people to start calling if they are not already there. Maybe if they get a flood of calls they will shut up already. Climate change legislation will go nowhere. Just more wasting time we don't have.
