I saw some posts about some people who said that if they didn't pass the DREAM Act they would be sending some of their texts books to McCain as a symbolic protest for denying us education. Now that we have over a month to campaign before the november elections when we will probably get our last chance this year, I thought organizing a massive scale mailing of old text books to the two republican senators which coldly turned their back on us would be great way to get their and the media's attention on our issue even more.

I know that they're obstacles with this, as mailing stuff to DC takes twice as long to get there as it does anywhere else in the continental USA but we have plenty of time if we organize ourselves quickly and efficiently. Also, I know that texts books aren't exactly cheap and the shipping charges to mail such a heavy thing isn't cheap either but we gotta make a stand! If we each mail a text book, they'de be bombarded with over 30 thousand books. Imagine that! A lot harder to ignore than phone calls and faxes.

Come on people, let's do it!

Haha yea you're right. I have lots of outdated books that are of no use to me anymore though.

Go to the salvation army or goodwill. Or even ebay. Just as long as its not like a paperback.

uggh... my book list usually cost over $1000 per semester, don't want to just send it for free and lose everything. how about all my notes... those are perhaps more symbolic as they are written in my handwriting... I have two boxes of notes, each weighting maybe 25-30 pounds of notes assingments and projects from high school and college.
(not sure if you guys noticed, but I tend to write a lot :-p)
besides my parents have been asking me for the longest time to throw all that stuff away and have already thrown about half a box or a box equivalent.
