Hello:

I'm a current Senior at Revere High School and I was wondering if the Dream Act passes before my graduation can I apply under it in order to join the Marines/Army? boot camp dates are getting pushed and I don't want to wait so long.

I don't know if this is helpful but some info on me:
I've been in the U.S for 12 years, came here with a Visa, I have a working permit, drivers license, and a social. I'm also registered for TPS.

you can get all these things with TPS dogshekki. if he wasn't undocumented then there would be no need for tps. what country castano??? unfortunately you cannot join the military with tps and say dream act does pass, we don't know when we can start applying for it... i guess you're going to have to wait for a while!!!

Yes you will be able to apply, however as the act hasn't passed yet (and its the job od DHS to set up the procedures for applying) we don't know how the application process will work and how long will it take (less than half a year, thats for sure) between passage and the first day you can apply.

more specifically salvadorians got TPS after the "el niño" catastrophe if I recall correctly, and they have been able to renew the TPS for years now. They can't join the military that is the problem and they have other restrictions as well as having to pay every year a fee that has been increasing to renew their status.

my advice, join the fun and call senators, we need to call call call and make sure that they understand this is something that is very important for a lot of people.
