For his part, Mr. Reid predicted, "We'll get some things done," naming comprehensive immigration legislation as one possibility.

If Republicans' vulnerability among Hispanic voters does not persuade them to compromise, he noted, "they have real problems with their mental capacity."

rrright! as if democrats have the mental capacity to help people who are in need. They are playing politics with out lives just like the Republicans are. They had to wait until the VERY LAST MOMENT to act. They are clearly playing politics.

Our campaign should focus on holding the democrats accountable. It is a demographic fact that the Latino votes will be a crucial factor in the 2012 presidential election. LET'S START A CAMPAIGN THAT LATINOS WON'T VOTE IN 2012!! If that means we will have a fascist republican in the office after Obama, SO BE IT! we got nothing to lose.

You guys seriously need to stfu

I understand that we are infuriated because they put the DREAM to vote at the last minute, but they also had to deal with unemployment and tax breaks which are infinitely more important than DREAM. If we do not support the Democrats, who the hell else are we going to support?

People shouldn't blindly vote for party candidates, but instead people should vote for people who will best represent their interest. This is the root of all evil and the biggest reason why we can't get this passed. People on the news now deplore the actions of the same people they voted for.

There were 3 Reps and 5 Dems who went against their given party and voted against the DA. Do you think that people who voted for them 6 years ago, even checked their stance on issues. Hell, some of the NOs in 2007 were now yeses and vice-versa.

Let's say Sessions was up for reelection today, and considered solely based on his stance on the DA. If all the voters were forced to familiarize themselves with the bill, its provisions, requirements and the financial benefit to the country, what percentage of Alabama voters would still vote against it? 30%? Knowing how small of a group it affects and the long term benefits for the US, it would be 40% max, still giving us the majority.

Even veterans, who were one of the bigger groups who opposed, due to their harsh financial situation, our availability of in-state tuition and the whole misrepresentation of the available financial aid in the conservative media, would most likely support it if they actually knew what was written in the bill.

If you don't know anything about politics you should not be allowed to vote. Right to vote for the uneducated is a complete joke. People pick their candidates based on their party. race, name, and ads on TV, but none of them has any idea how they stand on the issues. Yeah, they might vote with their party most of the time, but it is the time when the vote is really close that matters.

Why didn't they conduct hearings and studies on the DA like they did for other Bills? They must really think that voters are stupid.

Lets start a campaign that gives a direct message to democrats and republicans. If they want the latino vote, they need to solve the problen not just talk about it.

Obama/democrats - yes we can = 0
republicans - filibuster =0

Winner Takes All!
