McCain recent comments on CIR

The U.S. is still not doing enough to safeguard its border with Mexico, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told reporters Thursday.

“The violence level at the border is incredibly high, and we haven’t kept up with that,” McCain said in a news conference, according to the East Valley Tribune.

McCain admitted that border security has somewhat improved, but not enough in the face of rising violence in Mexico. McCain said he was disappointed by last week’s announcement that National Guard troops will leave the border by June and said more, not less, troops were needed there, according to the report.


McCain had just returned from a tour of the border areas in Douglas, Nogales and Yuma along with Arizona GOP Congressmen Jeff Flake, David Schweikert, Paul Gosar and Ben Quayle. The tour included a meeting with the widow and brother of Robert Krentz, a rancher slain last year near the border.

McCain said he would reintroduce his 10-point border security plan later this year, which would add troops to the border, enhance the ability of the government to prosecute those who illegally cross the border, and construct a security fence.

“After the border is secure and we can assure our citizens of that, we will be fully prepared to move forward with comprehensive immigration reform,” said McCain.

They have a way better chance on securing his diaper than securing the damn border. What would be secured enough? a wall? no. lasers? no. digging a trench fill it up with water and sharks? no. sharks with frggin lasers attached on their heads?? NO!
I'm sick of their bullsh*t excuse.

Maybe we should create a DREAMER Militia and go to the border to show how we too are concerned about securing the border in order to advance immigration legislations such as the DREAM Act. I'm serious.

Or I can call a senator that wont do a thing for me. Maybe calling will be more effective. After all, it's worked in the past right?

I would suggest you don't even think about doing that. What's the point in risking yourself like that in the open when there is not going to be Dream Act for at least couple of years. I'm not being pessimistic or bringing a negative attitude here, I'm just being realistic. It's time to draw up a plan B.

You see, it's things like this that make me scratch my forehead. Yes, economy is in a tough spot -the slow growth notwithstanding, and the budget crisis really is serious. I would really be concerned if I planned to live in America permanently. And look what the clown jabbers: more funding. The way he phrases the reform is disturbing too. Border security by and large should be a part of the "comprehensive" immigration bill instead of semantically separating the two as if the latter is fundamentally unable to address the issue of the former.

In retrospect, I can't believe that my future planning revolved around likes of this just a few months ago.
