Mayor Bloomberg: Immigration Necessary for U.S. Growth - “You Can’t Deport Them”

This Sunday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was a guest on “Fox News Sunday” where he once again extolled the virtues of immigrants and immigration.

He urged conservatives to stop fighting the tide of immigration and embrace it as something good and necessary for the U.S. economy to grow.

I don't know how many times I made the argument in 2007 to my conservative friends that passing CIR would benefit the US economy and we would see substantial revenue flow into the Federal Gov...Legalizing 10-12 illegals and slapping a $5K fine plus back taxes would rake in between $100 billion to $120 billion within a year...that's enough to pay into a sixth of Social Security for the FY 2012 budget or a quarter of Food Stamps, Unemployment Compensation, Child Nutrition programs, Tax Credits, and Student loans...all which are mandatory programs which MUST be funded. And guess what, I convinced 1 out of 15 friends...and that one friend is the only one I keep in touch with...the others I cut ties with because they were idiots. To some people "illegal" will always mean "ILLEGAL", regardless of facts and logic.
