Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has introduced new legislation in the U.S. Senate that would require all employers in the United States to use E-Verify. Sen. Grassley is the Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which oversees immigration policy in the Senate. He also sits on the Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security. Sen. Grassley's bill would make the E-Verify program permanent and would require all employers to use the system within 12 months of enactment.

"E-Verify has already proven effective in combating the hiring of illegal aliens. It’s a simple tool for employers who want to comply with the law in a digital age when sophisticated, fraudulent documents are just the stroke of a computer key away," Senator Grassley said. "This legislation allows us to hold employers accountable while giving them the tools needed to abide by the law in their hiring practices."

Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) has introduced a major piece of legislation that would require most employers to use E-Verify within two years of enactment. Large employers, federal, state, and local agencies and federal and state contractors would need to comply within six months. The bill would also make the E-Verify program permanent and reinstate the no-match letter program to help identify the 7 million illegal aliens currently holding non-agriculture jobs.

Rep. Smith is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, which dramatically increases the chances that the bill will come to the House floor for a vote. The Legal Workforce Act (H.R.2164)

Its definitely up to the Dreamer community to ensure the Republicans don't bully the Democrats into passing this shit without any compromise. Anyone remember how these dirty Repubs got Bush tax cut extensions passed last month? We all know what happened with Dream Act then. Seriously DA has to be attached to this otherwise I don't see the balance...DA HAS to pass along with E-Verify or else E-Verify does not pass. Simple..gear up folks.

I am with all of you guys. Let's start the mobilizations. I know Democrats, particularly Reid and Durbin, will sneek in at least the DREAM Act. START PRESSURING EVERYONE. THIS CALLS FOR PROTESTS.
