This week, Congress took a small step in reforming America’s out-dated immigration system. In H.R. 3012 the House voted to end country limits for employment-based visas, which should increase the number of highly-skilled workers from India and China granted green cards.

The bill would also raise per-country limits for green card applicants for certain family-based visas.

“The Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2011” does not raise the number of visas issued annually, but, by removing the limit on the number of visas issued to individuals from any one country, would begin to reduce the backlog of Indian and Chinese immigrants who currently have longer waiting times than other nationalities. Not coincidently, immigrants from these countries hail from the two most populous nations in the world, with economies that have risen as global competitors over the last decade. They also have some of the highest levels of educational attainment and income among immigrants in the United States. Bottom line: the migrants who would most benefit from this bill are viewed as the cream of the crop.

Very angry right now.

With or without Democrats, the bill was going to pass the lower house. If Senate Democrats vote in favor of this, I am going to be so pissed. It will just show that Republicans get their way with Democrats.

I still pisses me off man. Why in the living hell do Democrats vote in favor of piecemeal legislation from the right when the GOP has blocked piecemeal legislation, such as the DA, from the left?

The vote was 38o something to 15 in the house, correct?

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH How I hope Reid and Durbin rally Democrats against this bill.

And where are the Americans against this bill? Dont they always complain that we, the few Dreamers that have lived in this country for yeaaaaaars, are gonna take their jobs? But it's okay for Chinese and Indians to do so, just because they're "legal"?

Exactly man. I can't believe the majority of Democrats voted for this sh**. HELLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I thought you bastards cared?! Que paso con nosotros peanches culeros.

Oh, I am with you. I am so muthaluvin, monkey-pissing pissed.

I hope Reid has some sense and leaves this bill off the Senate agenda. If he doesn't, the most idotic group of leftists in the world can be found in this country.

Mexicans will also benefit from this bill and don't forget that there are lots of mexicans under the protecion of 245i which have been waiting for at least 10 years. So the bill is not that bad & is better than nothig.

I assume you benefit from this. The something-is-better-than-nothing only applies to a few.

Again, dumbest group of leftists on the damn planet.

Dream Act also benefit only one group of the undocumented population. The real solution would be CIR but unfortunately that is not on the table as right now.
