Sign the petition at DREAM Activist.

AND/OR

Make a Phone Call:

Call the Obama Campaign Office: 312-698-3670

Sample Script:
"Hi, I am calling to urge President Obama to immediately issue an executive order putting a stop to the deportation of DREAM Act eligible youth. President Obama has the power to stop the deportation of undocumented youth, and as a DREAM Act supporter, it is his responsibility to do so. Thank you."

The Obama administration is fucking retarded. We need to demand EXPLICITY work permits. That's what we all fucking want.

If he does issue an EO, why do I get the feeling it will be a Morton-memo redux/reaffirmation? "You guys can stay IF you are caught, but we cannot setup a system where all of you can get work permits." He would basically be creating the conditions for self-deportation.

^ I agree about the work permits, though I didn't make the petition. I figured it can't hurt to sign it. Also if you can't be deported what is to stop everyone from turning themselves in? I would assume this would mean work permits for anyone DREAM Act eligible...but I guess it isn't smart to assume.

^ I agree too. In the end, it would cost more economically to keep us here without work permits than to just give us the rights to earn money and pay taxes legally. Also, wouldn't anyone who turn themselves in to get deported would still have to be detained? I'm just wondering because I also read a statistic (http://seatoshiningsea.wordpress.com...migrant-12500/) of how much it cost for US to deport one immigrant. I'm sure there's a better alternative.
