Romney campaign: Kobach an 'informal adviser'
UPDATED 3:32 PM MDT Apr 20, 2012

(CNN) - Controversial anti-illegal immigration activist Kris Kobach is an "informal adviser" to Mitt Romney, a spokeswoman for the likely GOP nominee confirmed to CNN. Kobach, who co-authored Arizona's illegal immigration law and currently serves as Kansas Secretary of State, said in an interview Friday that he still considers himself an "informal adviser" to Romney. Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul agreed with that assessment in an email to CNN.

Earlier this week, Kobach's status with the campaign was thrown into doubt after Politico reported a Romney spokesperson described the fierce critic of illegal immigration as only a "supporter."
With President Romney, SB1070 will become a national law. Only morons would be fooled by this Rubio Dream Act BS.

That's Romney--not Rubio. That's like saying apples are pears.

We need to focus on who has legislative power now to make shit happen.

Wow, this isn't the way to grab Latino votes Mittens, only to scare away the potential bloc that will no doubt flock to Pres. Obama.

When Romney wants to seem more moderate in the General, the Democrats are just going to run Spanish language ads with him and Kobach holding hands.

Calling him an "informal adviser" is like the Facebook status "it's complicated". It's not complicated, you're either dating or you're not. Romney is either taking advice from this clown or he isn't.

Well, you have pretty much confirmed yourself as a Dream Act foe. Thank you for coming out of the closet. Now we know that the Dream Act will definitely pass this year, regardless if its a Rubio or Durbin Dream Act. Who knows, they might both just come up with a compromise plan. What is wrong with Rubio's Dream Act, tell me? There's an overwhelming majority on this forum that this bill must pass. When the recipients themselves are happy with it, what is wrong with it?

Call me the king of the dumbasses if you would like. If the upcoming Rubio bill is fair in that it does not bar us from aspiring to residency and citizenship and would bring the majority of us out of the shadows, I am supporting it.
