The Hispanic community and all the communities that also want immigration reform are not stupid. We do not ONLY want flowery rhetoric that promises us the moon and the stars. We want results. If Rubio can rally legislators from both parties to get results, kudos. Freaking kudos.

Depending on the rhetoric that Romney will deliver on immigration during the general election, people who do go out to vote in 2012 and "vote for" Obama will be voting against Romney, not necessarily for Obama.

Enough media coverage... I think He should just pull the bill out and have him pass it this year.. i mean its good that we're getting somewhat the attention.. but as long as this bill is only in Rubio's mouth.. im not buying it...

I agree, I still think the political climate and structure of congress will prevent even this compromise bill from passing, this is just political pandering at it's best. Rubio is trying to build an upscale image for 2016, Romney is trying to seize any lifeboat in order to prevent himself from being painted as the xenophobic candidate and the Democrats refuse to step back from there plan to hand the republicans any victory whatsoever. Welcome to politics boys.

Either way, I think dream act is probably one of the most well known pieces of legislation. We are known not only across the country, but also across the world. The more media attention, the better.

Didn't Kay Hutchinson from Texas suggest something similar to this when dream act failed in 2009( Only reason why she voted for cloture to debate the bill in 2009) ? She believed at that time that something like that could gain a lot of republican votes.
