Where did you see this? I doubt they would not allow us to get IDs. One major key about this is that they want us to come out of the shadows. Being able to properly ID ourselves is important.

More of a.. its nowhere written that they'll be provided. It would really be nice to be able to have a valid ID for sure

Most states will let you if you have an EAD. Driver's licenses are issued statewide, so it's not surprising that the Feds have little to do with it.

exactly. Most states require you to show 'proof of legal presence'. Deferred Action implies that you are legally present in the United States or the existing law allows you to stay in the country. DMV in most states takes EAD card as a valid proof of Legal Presence. I know California DMV does!
