President Barack Obama is winning the opening round in the battle over immigration, according to a Bloomberg poll released today, putting Republicans on the defensive with his decision to end the deportations of some illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children,
Sixty-four percent of likely voters surveyed after Obama’s June 15 announcement said they agreed with the policy, while 30 percent said they disagreed. Independents backed the decision by better than a two-to-one margin.

“At first I was really against it, but after sitting down and thinking about it, a lot of kids here are good kids,” Loretta Price, 65, a retiree and undecided independent voter from Ocala, Florida, said in a follow-up interview. “I think it was the right thing to do.”

I read the comments on all of these articles. It is amazing how close-minded ppl are: ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL, WE ARE A NATION OF LAWS, GO HOME AND GET IN LINE.

I would do anything to have an actual conversation with one of these ppl.

one of my roomate is like that. he does not believe that this is right for america and he assume that taking resoures away from "real" americans is what and all we acturally do. we debated so much on jobs, wages and laws. He is a lawer so he believe that people need to follow laws. he soften alot on this issue since last friday. however, i still think that his is against dream act.

Come over to my area, we are SURROUNDED by a good amount of people like that. Rural problems, smh. Some that are more open minded are willing to make exceptions for a couple that they personally know, but get a little uneasy at thousands. Lolz
