I was wondering if any Dreamers knew of any volunteering opportunities in the NY region. Thanks

Animal rescues always need extra hands, free public school always looks for free tutors for after school program

I did free tutoring in an elementary school for 2 years. I was working for a Chinese non-profit organization and it has connections for different community works. The hour was flexible, you just come in whenever you want. The summer workshop(community service) actually pays you 9 dollars an hour and they have never asked for SSN. It was in check.

Animal rescues are usually private and don't ask for SSN. Not even when you are adopting a pet. I adopted a cat last year. The lesbian couple were very nice people.

Animal shelters are government owned, and do ask for SSN.

i know this might sound kind of specific but do you guys know where i can volunteer my services with my knowledge? I have a bachelors in economics and a masters in a finance concentration. I am going into computer science in the fall. So any of these three would be ideal. I am in NY. Queens, some parts of Brooklyn, Long Island, and Manhattan are okay. @kikibay92 i love animals. i have 2 cats i adopted, but i cannot handle working at a rescue because I would want to take all the animals home!

I have volunteered:
teaching sunday school and going to nursing home in the past
