Our government was set up to be changed drastically and radically when it needed to be. They gave us certain rights to make sure that WE have control over the government and that WE can dictate where it is headed. We have slowly lost that in America. The government tries its best to keep itself afloat, and offers no form of revolutionary change... infact, it fights off revolutionaries all the time, continually spreading propaganda and lies about people whom they fear or disagree with (hugo chavez for example)Our founding fathers wanted us to revolt when our government became unjust... they wanted us to use our right to bear arms, and weed out the corruption in our government.Instead, now americans are more concerned with the new episode of American Idol than they are about the state of their current represenative "democracy", or to worry about rigged electoral systems. People are so uninvolved and uncaring of politics, that they have become completely pacified to the unjust things that go on around them. Instead of taking an actual interest in politics, they have news stations and newspapers that they fall back on and rely on as being the only accurate source of information. (sounds rediculous, but I've seen people who completely rely on news stations for their opinions)Thomas Jefferson once said "I hold it, that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical."
so in reality the things wrong with our government are the things wrong with our society. people are socially unaware. the people who arent "overpower" the people who are.
this hazy media shines light on knowing disigner labels, but you are a nerd if you know your history? we are doomed to repeat ourselve if we do not study and learn our history.
these ideas and thoughts must be geared to the proper audience. to those who care to those who actually realize there is more to our existance.

from studying history, things can be attained, they just take a lot of time, a lot of dedication, and a lot of action. There has always been an immigration problem but i rather be an immigrant today then back in the days. The Irish, the Viets, all the horrible things done to them, and though society has made it tough to come up in our world we live it, the oppurtunity is STILL there! we got it... how does this arguement not sound legit:
there are fundamental rights that WE as humans all have ... the right to learn!, the right to live and the right to privacy!
US "kids" that did NOT have the choice as to coming here , really need to get this ball rolling. its up to us to make a change.
I liked the idea i read about all of us writting our storys and making it into a book, or something like that. it could be the uncle tom's cabin of our days! c'mon guys...lets brain storm..........

the thing, that it is easier to watch American Idol than to get involved in politics. People is like electricity, it always takes the path of less resistance.

Things need to be changed, but they will only be changed when people change.

wow your writing is really touching.Yeah its so easy to say take action but in reality most immigrants are living in fear of even being discovered. They work,or go to school, and live their lives in secret. Many fear that by speaking up they will be bringing negative attention to themselves. It's sad but that's the way it is.

Well written. You might enjoy Kieth Olbermann at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/ and his Special Comments. He is one of the few remaining journalists with balls, along with Bill Maher. I plan to have a sweatshirt made with the attached graphic. The good news is that the internet has provided a vehicle for first amendment protection, the likes of which, has never been seen, or could never have been imagined, since the founding of our country. And you can be sure, there are many people of power, who cringe at its power and would crush it if they could.
