Hello everyone!

The deadline to submit your story to me is Monday, August 13th. If you don't know what I'm talking about here's the link to the original topic.

http://www.dreamact.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1423

Anyone, new and old members please submit your stories... I will be sending them to each senator on August 14th. You still have a little over a week to PM them to me. PLEASE do this... it's definitely worth a try and might sway those undecided senators to our side.

Remember:
*Deadline: 8/13/07 (3pm Central time) i need time to copy them and put them in envelopes.
*Include: first name (if you wish) and state you live in
*Make them cry! haha... ok well at least shed a tear.
*Write clearly and eloquently... refrain from using slang words... we want to sound smart and educated which we all are
*PM me your story, don't post it on here

Any questions... just ask!

I forget were we all going to send out all the stories or just you send them all?

We should also be sending them to news shows and media.. flood them with our stories as well but one by one not all in one big envelope.. increases the odds they will at least see and read one of them..

What do you think?

I will be sending them all. You guys send me your stories and I put them all together and send them to the senators.

I like the idea to send stories to the news and newspapers. I was actually thinking of doing that... just send mine in. If everyone sends their's one by one... that would be awesome.

Going a little further...

This may be an extremely far fetched idea, but what if we could get Oprah's attention. We can maybe send her our stories and maybe she'll do a show on us... even if there is a show, I'm not sure how many of us would/could go on it since it would expose our identities and many of us can't travel... but it's Oprah and she's a pretty influential woman. What do you all think?

We have done Oprah campaigns in the past to no avail. I suspect it was because the effort by our members to write to her was subpar. It's hard to blame anyone because of the very reasons you outlined. However, a more concentrated effort may perhaps "break the wall" so to speak. If you'd like to send these stories along to Oprah, you'd have my support .

Hello everyone.

The deadline to submit your story to me is approaching (Monday, August 13th) and I want to give you all an extra push to finish them and PM them to me. I have received only 8 stories so far... 8... that's extremely pathetic. I am not going to send out this letter if there's only going to be 8 stories in it. I am not going to spend close to $200 in copying and paying for postage just to send 8 stories.

I am grateful for the people who have sent them in... they sound great! But I'm dissapointed at the people who haven't and are saying, "I don't have to do it, someone else will." If I don't receive 15 stories in total, I am not going to send the letter... I really want to, but how lame would it look for the senators to read it and see there's only a few of us who wrote something? My original goal was 30... but I can't even get you guys to send in 15...

I know many of you have busy lives, but the stories don't have to be that long... so please finish them and send them in ASAP. Thanks.

Yes, it sounds pretty bad! I made my story already, it took me like 80 min. even after five revisions. It does not have to an epic of 1,000 pages. I know we are so incredible smart that we can write something awesome in 15 min. and send it on time. Still, for now it is better to send it on time. If you do not know how to start, just tell us and we can help you. Writers block is a common thing and you want to say so many things that you feel incapable to express them all in 1 to 2 pages. Maybe you only need to go back to your new member post and add some more information and comments. Remember, this is a way to make sure we are humans who think and feel rather than the shapeless thing others scream we are.

Thanx hrvatica13 for your continuing efforts. Just some suggestions...I really like the idea of reaching out to Oprah. If it was hard to get on the show before due to the reluctance of showing our faces...we could ask Juan and his friends to represent us. I'm pretty sure if we were able to get a show on Oprah, Juan wouldn't mind attending. Also, when I was going through Juan's facebook site, I saw a lot of letters being sent to the representatives in Florida. Wouldn't we be able to get permission to use those stories? I feel that Juan and his buddies were the most successful in getting our stories heard and it would be naiive of us not to join hands. If someone has a relationship with Juan's group, could you help us get together and fight together? With our resilience and their media presence, I think we could really do some damage. Just a thought..
