Oh wow.

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/3...on-reform-bill

Quote:

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will not try to block immigration reform from reaching the floor, despite complaints from some conservative leaders.
McConnell on Tuesday praised the Gang of Eight’s work and said he is “hopeful” of passing comprehensive immigration reform legislation through the Senate.

McConnell indicated he would not block a vote on a motion to proceed to the legislation crafted by four Democrats and four Republicans.

“The status quo is not good, the current situation is not good,” McConnell said about the nation’s immigration system, which his colleagues frequently describe as broken.
“With regard to getting started on the bill, it’s my intention — if there is a motion to proceed required — to vote for the motion to proceed so we can get on the bill and see if it we’re able to pass a bill that actually moves the ball in the right direction,” he said.

McConnell praised the work of Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and other members of the Gang of Eight.

“The Gang of Eight has made a substantial contribution to moving the issue forward. So far, I’m told that the Judiciary Committee has not in any fundamental way undone the agreement reached by the eight senators so I’m hopeful we’ll be able to get a bill we can pass here in the Senate.”

If you can't provide reasoning behind this conclusion, GTFO! The stars have aligned for CIR. No negative posts allowed from now on.

Such vulgar remark...
I admire your optimism but you have to come down from those stars and think more logically.

Anyhow, the Senate Bill will most likely pass the Senate. The House is another thing. The House has said multiple times that they won't take the Senate's Bill or vice versa.

But there are various other positive signs from the House as well. First of all, Boehner has said that it is very important for us to deal with Immigration. Secondly, just last week, the House group working for CIR outline came out saying they have an "agreement on principle" but yes we must tread carefully when it comes to the House. Gotta hand that to you. Lets remain cautious and not get our hopes up.

What you need, my friend, is some pancakes to cheer you up and boost your optimism.

CIR WILL HAPPEN THIS YEAR.
