Immigration Reform Will Take Shape This Fall

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Minn.) has indicated that the House will likely take up immigration reform in October. This is likely to include as many as nine bills broken into separate components on everything from guest work programs to border and interior security.

The House is still figuring out the specifics of how this will be addressed. No bill yet establishes a path to legalization or citizenship. The House’s “Gang of Seven”—a bipartisan group working on an immigration deal—has said that it will produce its own comprehensive version of reform after recess in September. While House Republicans have said they will not take on a comprehensive bill, this could be broken up into its constituent pieces and the legalization component used as a template for a House legalization bill.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has indicated that she is open to piecemeal reform. It is likely that a series of bills will be considered individually beginning in the fall and then—if they pass the full House successfully—they will be considered in conference with the Senate bill. Bread members are pushing for action by the House that includes a path to citizenship, but they are not yet advocating for any particular piece of legislation.
This could be an alternative on how they could possibly get a bill done through the House Republican piecemeal process...if the Gang of 7 has finished a bill though.

Man these fools need to just hurry up and pass something that benifits Dreamers and our parents, I have one more year of highschool and im seriously trying to join the Marines !

One more year of HIGH SCHOOL? Dude, man. I don't know what to say. You're still REALLY early. Many of us have pass that age where reform can benefit us the most.

Early to mid 20s, already paying college out of their pockets (many paying out of state) or forced not to attend college to support the family with labor jobs, late 20s found themselves without jobs after college with bills to pay.

30s, oh shit, they really suffered the most. No DACA, even the KIDS Act that Republican seems to willing to pass would cut them off. They might not even see Citizenship in their life if Republicans have their way.

Seriously, High School is still really early. If CIR passes right now, I'm not even sure if you can remember or know what it is to be illegal. In my case, after High School is where being illegal really took effect. No work, no license, no id, paying college out of pocket while my friends gets free ride (not to mention listening classmates complained how the tuition had raised and they ran out of Financial Aids, really boil my blood).

Has anybody seen the Dreamer commercial that's been airing on Fox News lately? Out of all the channels FOX NEWS! When I saw that I couldn't believe my eyes.

They are conditioning their viewers (voters) to accept the fact that immigration reform is needed and thats it is a good thing. I really think something will get done this year.

Isn't that the one by FWD.us that Zuckerburg is pushing?

I think everything pretty much aligns for Dream act related legislated but the details of what that entails remains to be seen.

Yeah Fox News has been pretty pro immigration reform and are getting heat from Tea Party viewers. Also, can you find that commercial on youtube?
