Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) said he will work to get immigration reform passed in the House, saying “it has to be fixed.”

"To me, doing nothing is not acceptable," Upton told a Rotary Club meeting in Richland, Mich., last week, according the Kalamazoo Gazette

"I do believe that we'll have at least half our caucus for it," he said.

"It's too important to have a partisan thrust here. I'd like to think we can find the center on this issue and move forward,” he added.

Last Wednesday, Rep. David Valadao (Calif.) on Wednesday became the third House Republican to back a Democratic-led immigration reform bill.

The House freshman, first elected to Congress in November, joined Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Fla.) and Rep. Jeff Denham, another Californian, in support of Democratic Rep. Joe Garcia’s (Fla.) immigration reform bill, H.R. 15.

Garcia’s bill would provide a path to citizenship for immigrants in the U.S. illegally, increase border security and set in motion a broad overhaul of the immigration system.

In his comments, Upton said only that he supports “somewhat of a pathway to legal status."

Do you guys have the same feeling that just when you are about to give up on CIR or any other related bill, there is a glimmer of hope on the news. It is an inevitable subject without any form of solution on the horizon.

We have too much invested in this issue is what is up. So even if someone said Sessions or King stopped stringing "illegal" into every other sentence I'd think there is a glimmer of hope.
