Read between the lines.. CIR will pass someday..When you start comparing immigration bill to voting rights or LGBT you know you will be waiting a whillllllleeeeeeeee

REP. GUTIÉRREZ SAYS IMMIGRATION REFORM IS "INEVITABLE"
Nov 8, 2013 Issues: Immigration
"There is an indomitable spirit that exists within the immigrant community."

Washington, DC – In interviews today, Congressman Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) responded to reports that important House Republican pro-immigrant champions said that immigration reform is dead for the year. Rep. Gutierrez disagrees. When asked by U.S. News and World Report, "Will immigration reform ever get taken up in the House and passed by Congress?" He responded:

"It will. There is an indomitable spirit that exists within the immigrant community. I truly believe that there are phases and times in history where things are inevitable, and this is one of the inevitable goals for justice that this country is going to achieve. Much like for African-Americans’ civil rights or voting rights for women or the right for the LGBT community to marry whom they love, this too will come to pass."

The Congressman continues to work with conservatives, moderates, and liberals on bipartisan approaches to immigration reform that ends the massive increase in deportations, secures the nation, and heals and reunifies families.

How likely is administrative relief at this point? Because I realize the likely excuse from the administration will be that we need to let Congress work its way through this. But, when one group refuses to do anything, what will be done?

Not much hope on new EO, wish they just get some type of bill that lift bars from EWI entry and that it self will be like mini CIR.

Rep.Gutierrez is a manipulative liar just like the others, whose primary interest is keeping themselves in Congress. What I would like to see...actually what real advocacy groups should demand to see is the dead Gang of 7 legislation.

There it is. We would like to read what you say and have been saying you have been doing for the past five years. Iwant to see the writing. And then we will have irrefutable proof that you are a liar. I wish I didn't keep getting disappointed by these a**holes, but I do because my livelihood depends on it.

I have more confidence in movements like Zuckerberg's Forward.US than Gutierrez. The tech, health, and business sector is hungry for talent. The government can't deny them that. What are they going to do about the massive inflows of Chinese and Indian immigrants on tourist Visas working at Microsoft? Or Latino law students? Reform is inevitable.

Absolutely agree with you. I think the media needs to explore the 'other' undocumented immigrants and improve their substance on this issue, rather than focus only on Hispanics. I live in the Eastside, and family works @ MS, my ex is now some hot-shot there (though he moved to Australia), I myself have learned to code this year and have friends who have allowed me to help on projects as a side contractor (as my status prevents me from being hired, obviously). But yeah, I assumed a co. this big would be in big, big trouble hiring so many foreign workers with tourist visas only. But as with anything, money talk$$$$$$.
