Has anyone run a livescan on themselves to check for accuracy of their criminal record?

I'm thinking about doing this before I apply.

For those who have run one, does it include your juvenile record? How extensive is it?

I have done a livescan check. From what I heard it does include your juvenile record, but it didn't show the misdemeanor that I thought I had on my juvenile record.

Alot of the do-it on your own criminal checks are useless because USCIS only cares about the actual disposition of your case.

I apologize for my ignorance. What do you mean by this?

Are there are self-checks that aren't useless that you know of?

I am pretty sure that the checks they do go beyond anything available to us. Thanks to the patriot act, they probably know how many hairs we have on our ass.

How can I determine whether my client has been convicted of any disqualifying crimes?
Attorneys should question their clients in detail about their criminal histories and take steps to obtain copies of all police reports and records of disposition of any criminal charges, including any juvenile adjudications, no matter how minor or how long ago they occurred. A relatively simple way to obtain an individual’s arrest record is through an FBI criminal background check, which requires the submission of an application form, fingerprints, and an $18 fee. More information is available at

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/bac...est-to-the-fbi. Many states have web-based systems that enable individuals and their attorneys to access criminal records.
This is from the AILA memo posted by Swim yesterday. Though the memo is written for Lawyers.

Just to be clear don't go file this on your own.

Good, my friend is going to Korea to study next semester. She has to do one of these too.

For example here in Texas you can go to DPS (Department of Public Safety) and get a criminal background check but those only show when you were arrested, cause number and charge. When USCIS is only interested in knowing what was the disposition (pled guilty or was it dismissed?).

FBI Records are very easy to do i can actually help you guys fill the app out and they dont take that long to come back there is a fee of $18 and i believe that the finger print card that you have to get its about $12 bucks.

Yeah that would be great if you could maybe write up directions or something.

I'm wondering if the live scan check through the California Department of Justice will be sufficient as they seem like they could get the results more quickly since it's electronic. I do understand the FBI check would probably be more thorough, but since I've only lived in California would live scan be fine?
