Speaker Ryan hinted in his press conference that the house judiciary committee may be working on something concerning dreamers right? At first I was like great, this can't be any good. So who's the house of the judiciary committee?

Quote:
The Speaker said the Trump transition team and House Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction over immigration issues, would have more details about the timing and process of ending the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“I will defer to the people who are focused on this on a daily basis to make sure they get this policy right,” Ryan added, "so that we don’t have any kind of ugly disruption that people are concerned about.”
Bob Goodlatte is more favorable to our situation than I expected. This is from an article in 2013 about his efforts to come up with a dream act like bill.

Quote:
Two top House Republicans are writing legislation that would craft a path to legalization for young immigrants who were brought to the United States illegally as children.
Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the second-ranking House Republican, and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) are working on the legislation, tentatively titled the Kids Act, their aides confirmed Thursday
Quote:
These children came here through no fault of their own and many of them know no other home than the United States,” Goodlatte said in a statement. “This is one component of immigration reform — any successful reform plan must improve our legal immigration programs, strengthen border security and the interior enforcement of our immigration laws, and find a way to fairly deal with those who are currently in the country unlawfully.”

I remember Goodlatte being serious obstacle to CIR. I hope his approach to Dreamers is better.

Give us LPR!

No need to go back to this discussion. People were legitimately afraid and they are not to blame in my opinion. Post election is very different from pre-election. Just like Trumps tone.

Things have changed if you haven't noticed.

Situations are turning for the better.

Go ahead blame me for experiencing little hope.

Honestly IMO, an ugly eruption is anything that involves taking DACA away without a replacement of some sort...so this may be a good sign? Or maybe I am too naïve...we shall see...

Trump promised to end DACA without any mention of replacing it or protecting us from deportation, don't see why anyone would have to apoligize for being a little worried.
