[SCOTUS] Trump’s pick founded club called ‘Fascism Forever’

Supreme Court Justice nominee Neil Gorsuch founded and led a student group called the ‘Fascism Forever Club’ at his elite high school.

The club was set up to rally against the ‘left-wing tendencies’ of his professors while attending a Jesuit all-boys preparatory high school near Washington D.C.

The name may be inconvenient for a Supreme Court nominee facing a tough confirmation battle. However it also shows the depth of Gorscuch’s right-wing credentials – and his penchant for mischief while attending his exclusive prep school in the 1980s.

President Donald Trump nominated Gorsuch, a 49-year-old U.S. appellate judge, to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on Tuesday.

Gorsuch founded the ‘Fascism Forever Club’ during his freshman year at Georgetown Preparatory, a now-$30,000-a-year private Jesuit school that is one of the most selective in the United States.

He served as president until he graduated in 1985, according to his senior yearbook.

This nominee has previously ruled against immigrants, worker rights, women rights and environment preservation. Also, his mother (head of EPA) was also fired for contempt of Congress, aka bribery.

....... Should I really be surprised anymore? Everytime I see any of Trump's nominees I'm like "I wonder what's (also) wrong with THIS one?".

It will, if nominated, and in so far as it relates to his immigration stance. And especially if Trump's current immigration EO's were to make it to the Supreme Court, as they have a good probability of doing.

Basically, his record is mixed. But he would likely be against DACA as an EO, on the grounds that it violated the separation of power doctrine in the Constitution and allowed too much latitude for Executive agencies to interpret immigration law (i.e. DHS memorandum effectively establishing DACA, which emphasized prioritization of criminals and deferment of "Dreamers".)

Also, he scored the highest on the “Scalia index”, which should tell you volumes.

This is what I don't understand. How is the LGBT community going to suffer when trump said he will not touch them? I'm speaking in terms of laws.

He will not, but Republicans will.

Trump is not king. We have a Republican Congress that will pass laws that may affect this community, even if Trump vetoes (doubtful), a supreme Court decision can nullify EOs.

No, the speculation consists of the supreme court overturning protections LGBTs in form of ruling in favor of religious freedom lawsuit cases.

One example would be that clerk that refused to grant marriage licenses because she believed it violated her religious freedom.

Or when restaurants refuse service to LGBT individuals restaurants have argued that their freedom of religion is being violated.
