“ICE is not performing indiscriminate raids or sweeps or checkpoints when we go out. We know the people we want to apprehend,” DHS Press Secretary Gillian Christensen told Yahoo News on Monday evening. “We’re not just going to random doors or pulling random cars over.”

Christensen further described reports of identification checkpoints and random home visits as “needless fearmongering and completely inaccurate rumors.” She said the agency is eager to “take the level of fear in the community down, while still doing our job.” Christensen also stressed that ICE is working off “target lists” and that “75 percent” of the people who have been arrested have criminal convictions.

“Seventy-five percent of the people arrested were convicted criminals. Those are target lists that each field office takes the time to build. They take the time to do surveillance to ensure that they have a good shot of apprehending the folks on the target list,” said Christensen.

Christensen said two other groups that are major enforcement priorities for ICE made up most of the remainder of the arrests.

“The other 25 percent, that’s made up of illegal re-entrants. They’ve been deported once, and they illegally re-entered the country. That group also contains immigration fugitives. Those are people who have been given an order of removal by an immigration judge and, instead of complying with that order for removal, they have absconded,” Christensen said

They should and it appears it is the case. I doubt they would want to test the waters with those cases. Although family members not elegible for DACA might be targets from what was said in this post.

As soon as they start deporting dreamers though the backlash is gonna be brutal. They are using us right now. "Hey we won't even touch the dreamers so let us deport everyone else"

As long as your DACA is valid you should be fine but when it expires, things will get tricky.

What happens after all these bad hombres and everyone they were meant to detain and deport are detained and deported ? For sure dreamers are next. Trump says 3 million criminals need to be deported and at most maybe 2 million tops. I can see dreamers with dui or other bad records ( final orders, too many traffic violations ) being targeted. I don't mean ice is going to show up at their house or wait for them. I mean if before they were at the wrong place wrong time and were precious let go. Then this time they will be deported if they have questionable backgrounds

Trump says a lot of things. That was an estimate of "criminals". Idk what gov agency they cited but seeing as this administration dabbles in alternative facts I wouldn't put so much emphasis on that number. Lmfao at too many traffic violations though,,, y'all be reaching lol piano I hope you drive safe then

If ICE agents go to someone's house, they check legal status of all the people in that house. They might be coming for some criminal guy who lives in a given house but they might end up catching more people during the process.
