Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is declaring the impact of the Trump presidency "over."

“The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over,” he told the Weekly Standard on Friday. “We still have a huge movement, and we will make something of this Trump presidency. But that presidency is over."

In an interview with the conservative outlet, Bannon said President Trump's administration would "be much more conventional" in the wake of his departure.

Bannon said his absence from the White House will likely make it “much harder” for Trump to pave a way forward on issues like “economic nationalism and immigration.”

He went on to predict Republicans would "moderate" Trump. He said the congressional GOP hasn't given full throated support to Trump's agenda since he took office.

“Now, it’s gonna be Trump,” he told the Standard. “I just think his ability to get anything done – particularly the bigger things, like the wall, the bigger, broader things that we fought for, it’s just gonna be that much harder.”

That Charlottesville attack has really made an impact to politics. Now, associating with someone that is alt-right is considered a serious taboo compared to times before.

But still, Bannon's firing was planned weeks before. Hopefully, the RAC act is pushed forward or some type of CIR.

Of course he's going to say that. Disgruntled ex-employee.

No one leaves their workplace getting fired going "This place is way better without me"

I would say the opposite. All this political turmoil could be bad for Congress and for us.

These alt right idiots are really overestimating the public sentiment over their "movement". Prior to November of 2016, they were shitting their pants worrying about getting embarrassed at the election and they only won because of a perfect storm of angry white people, in-fighting between the Bernie, Hillary, and third party supporters because many of them thought Hillary had it in the bag so if they stayed home as a protest, she wouldn't have an overwhelming victory and "That would show her!"

If it wasn't for that in a few key states, right wingers would be singing a completely different tune right now. Perhaps the tide would be turned in the Republican party and they'd be tired of getting smacked around and would try to shift back towards the center. I'm sure the hardliners would still be talking about how Hillary is a tyrant and doing their best to block everything she did but that's nothing new.

Anyway, things can turn quickly and I never thought Trump won by a landslide. He was the result of a perfect storm. Just be patient.
