Chaffetz says POTUS will"give a window of opportunity for congress to actually do something on immigration reform over a 6 month period." Pat Ward (@WardDPatrick) - Source
They want to give him a victory on something. He's literally failed to accomplish every campaign promise. So, it looks like this may benefit us in some way...

I thought he wasn't in Congress anymore and works for Fox News? Wouldn't Paul Ryan be the first to know about this? Anyways let's hope this is real.

I wanted to add that back when Trump took office Dana Bash had reported the same thing, that Trump wanted to give Congress a 6 month deadline to fix the DACA issue. Maybe it will happen after all.

Now there's a fire under their asses. No matter what side you're on, how hardline you are, saying "deport the dreamers" is something that once your back is against the wall you will not co sign for. Look at all the reps and the TN AG who is like "yes law is law. But there is a human element involved here." Us dreamers have truly started a revolution and sparked congress to wake the fuck up and move on some type of legislation.

Immigration reform is too bold and divisive to pass in 6 months. But it would be great if they did.

I don't think something for 11 million people will pass. I do think something for dreamers will and build momentum for broader reform.

I don't believe Chaffetz is sincere about wanting CIR.

I don't think he is either. I think the best we're going to do is DREAM Act/BRIDGE attached to a border enforcement bill.
