Sen Schumer talks about daca with Trump

After the meeting, the Democratic leader said he had a private chat with Trump where they discussed the President’s move to terminate Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which protects some young immigrants from deportation.

Trump’s action leaves it up to Congress to pass a bill that would allow the immigrants to stay, but Schumer stressed Democrats would not trade the legislation for support for a border wall sought by Trump.

“I told him he could not tie it to the wall, that was unacceptable, which he would have liked to do. And he seemed very open to it. I think his view was that, you know, these kids should not be punished,” Schumer said.

“So I said to him, to have the view won’t do them any good. You should act on it. We’ll see.”

Looking forward to it as well. I, along with family and friends, have been non-stop contacting Schumers office. I know he realizes that a stand alone DA won't pass and he is finally open to a negotiation. Fingers crossed something comes of this meeting.

He did. Read the quote, it says Trump would have liked to have the wall in return, but he was open to it.

Exactly, he truly doesn't want the wall. He would sign the bill without the wall.

Trump needs to come out and publicy state that he wants border security and legalization.

Why? He's already come out in support for us.

No he hasn't. It's always been other people repeating what Trump has "told them" After ending DACA, Trump has yet to come out and publicy state that he wants a bill sent to his desk and what it should contain.

Sarah Huckabee has stated that Trump would not sign a clean Dream Act bill. How is Border Security something only Republicans want?
