Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said President Donald Trump agreed with her and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) that there would be a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients.

PELOSI: What we agreed with the president on was that the basic bill would be the DREAM Act. This is a bill introduced — and has nearly 200 co-sponsors — by Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard. It is a bill that we will take forward, and it is the bill that we all support. What was to be determined is if and what there would be in terms of border security. But the essence of the bill is what the president committed to. That is what we trust him to honor.

TODD: He committed to a pathway to citizenship for these DACA recipients?

PELOSI: Now mind you the pathway to citizenship is an earned pathway that is way down the road.

TODD: Some people think there should be no path at all. You believe the president agreed to a pathway to citizenship with this DREAM Act?

PELOSI: That is what is contained in the DREAM Act, yes.

I think Trump agreed since it is a pathway that is long and earned.

I wish Nancy and Schumer would stop talking to the media on any future compromise. The media will some how turn it around and ruin any further compromise.

Agreed. Also they should call it pathway to permanent residency. Since you can become a USC later anyway.

I encourage everyone to watch Rep. Pelosi's interview. Todd kept pressing that it is understood and agreed that citizenship will be earned under DreamAct. She was a bit nervous and at times seemed to not know how to answer.

Most notably missing: Dates. Timeline. Schedules.

We need to hold our supporters accountable for pursuing this solution NOW. The supposed health care bill the GOP wants voted on will not pass - it's an aberration that cannot be considered health care. They need to move fast on DreamAct.

She seemed hesitant because of the wording. The Dream Act does eventually lead to citizenship but it’s not guaranteed. You have to earn it. Trump I think is ok with eventual earned citizenship but he’s not looking for Amnesty were citizenship is given out automatically. She also said that we have to wait and see what else Trump wants besides border security. She never mentioned the Raise Act in the interview but I think that’s what she thinks will come up on the WH list coming out in the next week or so. She emphasized no wall but tried not to touch on other items like the Raise Act.

By going to school two years, joining the military or being employed for 3 years. I mean you could fail to do that if you’re dumb. Under this bill you have 8 years to do one of those three. Past bills gave us 5 years.

So if we already have our Bachelor's degree we're good then?

Yes. Previous versions would allow us to automatically become Permanent Residents if the requirements had already been fulfilled but I’m not sure about this version. I’ve heard some say we are stuck as conditional PRs for 8 years no matter what but I’m not sure if that’s accurate.
