Grassley at #DACA hearing: Any deal has to include border security, “and by that, I don’t mean a wall."

Starting off good

Raise Act isn't enforcement, Raise Act is just a fuck you to anyone ever, let give you the basic rundown because the more I am reading it the more I am rubbing my eyes in disbelief anyone would vote yes on this.

1. Getting rid of DV lottery (and therefore NACARA)
2. Parents are removed from sponsorship entirely (IR and VAWA cases)
3. Family based immigration is reduced to 88,000 (down from 480,000), imagine the backlogs now. Further reduced by:
a. People paroled into US who did not leave within 1 year or adjusted status.
b. Anyone granted adjustment under a provision exempt from numerical limitations (so basically any special adjustment method: IR, S/T/U- Visa Adjustment, Registry, and so on and so forth.
5. F1, F2B, F3, and F4 categories are REMOVED ENTIRELY.
6. Creation of W-visa for 5 year period for parents of USCs, no employment authorization, no pathway to anything, valid for renewal only while the USC child remains in US. There is also some fuckery regarding T and U visa definitions but I can't understand the actual changes.
7. Invalidation of any petition removed by this act.

Tom Cotton should be shot as should the only cosponsor of this crappy bill - David Perdue. This bill should be given no consideration and should not be within 500 yards of Dream Act.

How many Diversity Lottery visas go to NACARA?

Correct, as I pointed out before here: http://dreamact.info/forum/showthrea...t=78509&page=3

It basically takes whole subsections of the INA and strikes them out. Its nothing but "redesignating" and striking whole cloths of the aforementioned legislation, with the intent of curtailing legal immigration.

Republicans seem to be hell bent on never allowing parents of dreamers to gain status. Even if it takes 10 years for that to happen, they don't want it.

Senator Leahy is killing it. He asked the justice department guy to give examples of DACA recipients committing acts of terrorism like Jeff Sessions had accused them of doing. He then said "you don't have to give hundreds of examples, just ONE ONE ONE". Gave me goosebumps.

He's a great photographer too.

Hahahah.

Its a strange game being played out now.

Republican Senator is asking what President Trump wants Congress to do; attorney general representatives are skirting the question completely on any specific or conditions; its one elaborate back and forth of saying nothing elaborately, mostly by the AT representatives who cannot or will not state any requirements by the administration, which is convenient to them as it is vexxing to the Republican Senator.

Actually quite revealing. It means they have not received any guidance from the administration.
