Flake told the newspaper that he will drop out of the race over the nastiness in the current GOP climate.

"There may not be a place for a Republican like me in the current Republican climate or the current Republican Party," he told the paper.

I hope his successor gets beaten by a Democrat who will be a solid supporter.

I hope all these senators dropping out vote for a DA resolution before leaving office.

News like this make it entirely possible for Bannon’s high jack of the party to be a real outcome.

The Republican Party has imploded and become a nationalist white supremacy party.

Very true. It also energizes his base as they see this as "draining the swamp".

I don’t believe this will make democrats competitive though. The Republican Party was always a white nationalist party. Only difference is that whisper has become a roar...

My believe is that Democrats won't be competitive in State races as long as they have Nancy Pelosi as a leader. In most elections everyone gets tied down to her, and it seems like voters just want a new face rather than the same old thing that hasn't worked for them.

I’ll save my opinion of Pelosi until after December and this budget deal...
I hope she fights for us and keeps her word as well as Schumer
