House Majority Whip Steve Scalise says there are no final decisions on the fate of a program that shields young immigrants brought to the country illegally as children.

But the Louisiana congressman says top leaders — both Republican and Democrat — have been negotiating for months over immigration issues including the program and is hopeful they "can get this resolved soon."

Yes, let’s keep focusing on the negative stuff though .

There’s is a huge difference between hopeful and confident. Durbin is also hopeful but no one in government is confident that a DACA deal will be reached.

Well, I understand why we should be positive, but we’ve known that they’ve been negotiating, if you want to even call it that, for months. We also pretty much know that everyone is hopeful this issue is resolved soon. Thing is, Scalise is also someone trying to end birthright citizenship. But he might be cool with people like us.

Not worried about it bro, just trying to shed some light on Scalise. Maybe the fact that he can sponsor that type of legislation but also is hopeful for a solution could mean good things. It would also just be posturing if negotiations breakdown. Honestly, at this point, any quotes that aren’t concrete can be construed to be positive or negative, depending on who is reading.
