Senate Democrats have secured the votes to block a House plan to fund the government through mid-February.

A Democratic aide confirmed that the caucus will be able to block Republicans from getting the 60 votes needed to overcome an initial procedural hurdle.

Republicans better come to a bipartisan agreement!

If they are smart , they’ll even go to Pelosi for an agreement before they do that . What’s the point if it fails in the senate?

When did they vote for the last one? The night before as well? I feel like last time, there were more news and the likelihood of it not shutting down. I feel like they're really pushing it this time, and it might even happen after all.

Yeah last one passed Thursday Dec 21st in the evening. I guess they want to usually give the President one day to sign it, or have some reserve for really emergency votes (i.e. bill fails and they have to start ceding ground).

How come we haven’t heard much from the No. 2’s meeting? I take it probably lead to a breakthrough?

I doubt it did. We have to remember that Cornyn is an asshole.
