GOP AZ Rep McSally wants money for the border wall funded up front so future Congresses can't eliminate money for the wall.

GOP AZ Rep McSally says immigration bill shouldn't come to flr w/o a majority of the majority, via the "Hastert Rule." McSally says a bill backed by some GOPers & lots of Dems "would be a disaster." Says getting a majority of GOPers "comes w/our responsibility in the majority"

Dem CA Rep Aguilar on obtaining enough signatures for the discharge petition before the recess: I’d love to be there before the break. But I don’t know if that’s going to happen.

Dem CA Rep Aguilar on if the discharge petition for DACA/immigration effort loses momentum over the recess: I don’t see a lot of people going to somebody’s office and saying ‘Don’t sign a discharge petition.’ It’s the wonkiest thing in the world.

Dem CA Rep & immigration/DACA discharge petition supporter Aguilar says the supporters of the discharge petition really need to have the signatures by June 11. That gives them seven legislative days prior to the June 25 deadline.

Freedom Caucus Chair Meadows: "I’m not really concerned that Hurd/Aguilar would be signed into law." Says changes to E-Verify for farm workers could push supporters over 200. "I don’t know if it gets us to 218..it gets us close."

Immigration/discharge petition advocate GOP FL Rep Curbelo leaves mtg w/ldrs. Says “there are no commitments yet” on addressing issue. Says he has GOPers “committed to sign.” Did ldrs pick off any possible signatories? “Not to my knowledge.”

GOP FL Rep Curbelo on mtg w/GOP ldrs on immigration: We are making progress. How it ends, I don’t know..It’s important to have a fairly specific agreement by the end of the week

@MEPFuller
Status report on immigration negotiations: Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) says, on the immigration issue, he and Jeff Denham (R-Calif.) are “diametrically opposed.”

Carlos Curbelo says the immigration meeting between leadership, moderates and conservatives was “certainly not a waste of time.”

Republican immigration advocate Carlos Curbelo says a permanent solution for undocumented immigrants is “essential” for a solution. Soooo how does that bill pass without Democrats? (I don’t think it does.)

If the Republican immigration advocates insist on a “permanent solution” — which I think means at least a “permanent status,” probably a green card or pathway to citizenship — that’s the ballgame. I don’t see how that passes without Democrats.

Jeff Denham just said on MSNBC that we had all the 25 republican votes needed, he then was asked who were the missing Republicans and he responded "you'll find out this afternoon"!

Im sure House GOP leaders are gonna keep talking bullshit for as long as they can to stall.

But hopefully the moderates dont fall for it and continue to sign the discharge petition.

The time to offer a bill was months ago, even not last year.

Speaker Ryan doesnt give a rats ass about passing anything bipartisan. He has been Trumps puppet.
