Barton came to the United States as a teenager with his mother in 1989. He was convicted in Georgia in 1996 of assault and possession of a firearm in an incident in which his friend shot at a house from a car he was driving.

In a dissent, liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor called the ruling "at odds with common sense." Sotomayor noted that the immigration judge who heard Barton's case said she would have preferred to grant Barton's bid to avoid deportation, noting that he had rehabilitated and that his four children were all U.S. citizens.

To be honest this shouldn’t be shocking. We’re already in foreign land undocumented, the least we can do is not commit any crimes regardless how petty they may be were walking on thick sand already.

Just months... Sucks

Barton came to the United States as a teenager with his mother in 1989. He was convicted in Georgia in 1996 of assault and possession of a firearm in an incident in which his friend shot at a house from a car he was driving. Barton also was convicted of drug possession in 2007 and 2008.

In 2017, immigration authorities decided Barton's deportation could not be canceled because the 1996 assault charges triggered the stop-time rule, just months before he reached the seven-year milestone.

Boo Hoo cry me a river in Mexico.

Participated in a Drive by.
Hung out with ghetto people.
Drug Dealer

See ya, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Sorry kiddos your papa was a bad hombre.

Having kids doesn't make them a get out of jail free card.

I just love it when a story has a good ending. I get a real boner from these hard justice stories.

..and the criminal thug drive-by-er unconfirmed gang banger got deported.
The End.

He made mistakes as a teenager. He rehabilitated- which is the expectation society has for people in these situations.
FACTS:
The report states that his friend shot the firearm.
He was convicted of drug 'possession'. Oh, you mean pot? The one millions of others smoke in this country for medical or recreation reasons?
Like 40% of my patients?

We don't know the rest of the details, but yeah, let's throw this person to the lions because you know, it's not like he raped women and children, or criminally neglected to act on a global pandemic.
